September 16, 20169 yr I guess I'll have to dig around for the patterns, again.. Usually made out of a 1x6 pine board, a few nails, and some red things. Sometimes, I even use real walnut for the antlers.... Hot melt glue to hold the antlers in place....because the hot melt will give way before the wood will, IF it is knocked onto the floor Eyes were done with just a Sharpie. Bow was held in place by a dab of hot melt glue. This one is a bit plain, other times, I have fired up the router table, with a 3/8" round-over bit, and gave Rudolph a more rounded body. Just 6 pieces of pine...could usually get 5 or 6 of these out of an 8' 1x6 board. Might dig around to see IF I can find the old pattern for a sleigh, as well....got a few months yet....

Say what, you used an electric motorized router? Get your carving chisels out for the eyes or a Dremel with straight router bit or carving burr; then you can hi-light/ accent with Sharpie...just a thought from my single cell motor...

September 16, 20169 yr My favorite seasons of the year, fall through winter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, the kids love it, and it's all festive. I know folks are going to slam me on this, but as far as I am concerned, it could stay Christmas all year long, just love it!

I even left up some of the decorations, because the place is usually so "Plain" during summer.
September 16, 20169 yr I don't disagree about the Christmas thing, but I'm pretty sure we can't afford. Lots of grandkids and Grandma thinks she has to give them everything.

I would love it to be Christmas season year round, without having to buy anything!
September 16, 20169 yr I have to get busy soon. I am going to make throw tops for the kids this year. Probably going to need to make at least four dozen. At least there isn't a lot to making them.

I'm starting to prep myself for about 8 weeks of stressed out grumpy people looking to find the 'perfect' gift! But I have to agree, fall is probably my favorite season too.
