September 8, 20169 yr Popular Post A week or so ago, someone inquired as to how many have migrated over from Wood since their announcement to close down their forums. Well, here's your answer......kinda, sorta. Since August 12th, we have had 99 new members to The Patriot Woodworker. As far as I can tell, I believe 97 of the 99 have come over from Wood. So, there ya go Stick.
September 8, 20169 yr COOL! I for one am glad to be here! I hope the wood rescue mission contributes positively in added value, participation and further expands awareness of what this site offers. The more the merrier! Now to get that century mark... Thanks Ron for all you do and everyone else does behind the scenes to make this site such a great place to hang-out and call home...even more so the focus and attention given to this nation's veterans!

September 9, 20169 yr One thing I've noticed is the activity has went up way more than it used to be. At least it seems like it has.

Our new found friends are a chatty bunch, and we love it that way! Keep up the great work guys, we appreciate your differing views and opinions and the new skill sets that came aboard. Our community is only as good as our membership, and we have had a die hard membership for the 6 years we've been a community, and we've had die hard sponsors as well for the same length of time that believe in us, and our mission and projects. We are a better community when folks join us, and chat it up, and share and teach and learn. WOOD's loss, our gain, too put it bluntly.

Yep! hated for it to happen, but after the fact, I'm glad that it did and I was taken out of my comfort zone. I would have missed the opportunity to be here. I wouldn't consider going backward now if given the choice. Change is seldom easy, but without it we often live in the status quo... ...and if'en' I did go back, I would never know the outcome of Mr. Newman's side table project...couldn't live with myself. Get 'er done Steve! Thanks John and everyone else for opening the door and inviting us in!
September 9, 20169 yr Not only is your "hardcore regulars" friendly, but the site itself is so much better then the WOOD site (before they shut it off - now, almost any site that is running is better, but I digress). Everyone here has welcomed us "newbies" to TPW with open hearts and open keyboards. I really enjoy this site and the banter of everyone as well as the projects people post. Thanks Again!!
September 10, 20169 yr I have to admit that I spend more time on this forum than I did the other, a lot of the same people but it seems more relaxed and open.
