Re: the Beadlock jig. Like so many gadgets I "just had to have", after using it a few times, it went back in the box and in a drawer. If I gathered up all the useless (to me) crap I've accumulated, I could have a 3 day yard sale.

I was building some furniture with M&T legs and rails a few years ago and bought mine. It did a good job, and I really liked it. But like you I have not used mine for quite some time, so it is just sitting in the drawer. But it is there if I ever need to do that kind of project again. Right now I have too much furniture, so concentrating on small stuff for other people as presents.

The reason I liked it ,was that floating tenons are so much easier to make a good fit than the fixed tenon, not all the fussing around to make them fit tight.

I'd still like to make a two-axis horizontal boring machine (with router).   Way down on the list.

That would be a great interesting project,Keith, but it would take as much time or more to make one than it would ever save in time using it. It reminds me of taking days to make a jig to do a few minute operation. But the enjoyment is in making the jig.

Kind of reminds me of a guy I knew who was doing lockmiter joints awhile back.

Yep and the wall is covered with them ......JUST in case I need it again. Noooow how does this thing setop?

Maybe half my jigs are easy to figure out. The other half, I can't remember why I made them.

I'm thinking of the kind with two sets of ball-bearing drawer glides and a vertical mounding board for the router to sit in.  I don't have a spare router to dedicate, but I could be convinced...

@kmealy, I'm having trouble visualizing a 2 axis horizontal boring machine. How would it be used?

My guess would be that the table is mounted on drawer guides, and the router on a vertical board on drawer slides, sounds interesting.
