August 31, 20169 yr Posted a couple weeks ago I had ordered an Eggbot. It was back ordered longer than expected but finally it's supposed to deliver today. Perfectly poor timing because of already made plans I probably won't even open the box for at least 10 days, bummer. I had really hoped to get some experimenting done before now. What I am doing, as time permits, is doing Inkscape tutorials as that's the software that the eggbot is designed to use. For those not familiar with it, Inkscape is powerful imaging and drawing program, similar to Adobe illustrator I believe. However, it is an open source program and completely free for downloading. From the little time I've spent with it, the program has a big learning curve. There are hundreds of designs available for the eggbot already but of course I want to do some of my own if I can figure out just how to do it. Steve
August 31, 20169 yr Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Always something getting in the way of the fun. May the 10 days go quickly for you.
August 31, 20169 yr I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with the Eggbot as well; should be fun!
September 2, 20169 yr Greetings, Steve and others. I just signed up and I see a lot of familiar names from the Wood Online forum.
September 2, 20169 yr Author Hey Billy, glad you're here!! If you haven't done so already go to the "introduce yourself" area and say hello so you can get a proper welcome, great guys on this forum and they'll be glad to meet you! Steve
September 2, 20169 yr Thanks, Steve, I just returned from posting there right after saying howdy here. I guess that I did it backwards. I also posted a picture there and it was really easy ... just drag and drop.

A question about your yarn bowl. Do you use a template for cutting the yarn slot? Steve

I just filed and sanded and scraped and then repeated the process until I thought that it looked like what I had pictured in my head. Feel free to borrow my head ... I'm not using it right now anyway. This forum software seems to be very similar to the Xenforo software that we switched to recently on the AAW Forum. We are using a vB4 "skin" in order to provide a similar appearance and color scheme to the previous vBulletin software that we used.
