July 4, 201610 yr It will be a short week in the shop. We head out to Indiana on Thursday. Trying to finish a couple of repairs before we leave. Rocking chairs seem to be finding their way to my shop. I have two on the bench to be repaired. One is just a glue up. Seems the old glue just gave way and it separated. It is now in the clamps and should be out of here today. The other one has a broken rocker. They watch the Gorilla Glue commercials and tried to repair it. Even Gorilla Glue will not hold a broken rocker. So I am making two new rockers for this one. I had an old coffee table brought in that a piece of the mahogany veneer had gotten pulled loose in a move. Thankfully they saved the piece and brought it with them. Got it glued back in place and fit as best as it would go together. Hope you all have a fun week in your shop.
July 6, 201610 yr Fun repairs John! Sometimes I love doing these repairs, it's a challenge and you get creative, thanks for showing John, waay cool.
July 20, 20169 yr Author New Rockers for one of the Rocking Chairs completed and the rocker was delivered. The teak rocker just needed parts to be re-glued. All put together and delivered. Two nice rockers now repaired and put back into service.
