February 15, 201610 yr Two "extra" wooden bodied planes I wasn't getting much use out of. Drove out to Huntsville,OH. and did a bit of trading.....Got credit for $10 a piece on the two......picked out two items, and paid the $1 difference. Grandson came along, and found a pair of "Opera Glasses" for $3......So, $4 out the door....I get these two treasures.. Screwdriver is by Stanley, a "Handyman H1443, branded as a Western Auto. The drill is a Millers Falls No. 2-01. They replaced the #2A about 1968. And...handle was empty, as usual for me. Not too sure about that Black Plastic knob...it MIGHT just be what was on the drill whenit was made. I cleaned these a bit, oiled the moving parts. Drill Works nice and smooth now. It has Millers Falls Made in USA 2-01 stamped on the crank handle. Jaws have been blued. Handle could use a new finish, Black "paint" is about 90% still there. might be worth two handplanes?
February 15, 201610 yr Nice! I picked up a drill like that for a friend, but I didn't know who made it. Thanks!
