January 30, 201610 yr Had a few old wood bodied jack planes I wasn't using, and a #3 Dunlap Parts Plane.....Took all four up the road a ways.....a place that Buys, Sells< and Trades all sorts of things.....Traded the four planes straight up for one plane. But, what a plane it is Stanley No.7c......somewhere between a type 7 and a type 9. Those two holes in the side have threads, as someone installed a fence there, at one time... The iron is about used up. Has a four line logo, too. "S" casting for the lever cap Rosewood handles are crack free, almost.. Rear handle has a worn spot on the horn. Two patent dates, two. Tag gave a price of $65, I just did a straight up trade, no money involved. Still need to clean this little guy up. Japanning is about 95%,too. Couldn't get to Columbus for the Wood Working Show.....I guess this will just have to do. BTW: They had quite a few shelves chuck full of stuff like this, location? Heheheh....

January 31, 201610 yr Author Ok, didn't take all that long, so here is a few of the "after" photos Replaced the too short OEM iron with a little bit longer one. Have a "new" brass wheel coming in the mail. The two holes are threaded, need to find out what size.. a better view. Toe bolt was even shined up. Note the only bad spot on that rosewood handle. Shavings from the White Oak blank...might need a touch more sharp on the iron? Longer view, without all the glare? Full width of the blank. About the next to last shaving this blank's side will need. I guess there are TWO old Battlewagons in port, now? Stern views, newest one is a Type 7, the one on the left is a type 8/9. Maybe a Starboard shot? Both of these are 22" long. Irons are 2-3/8' wide. That chisel laying there? Stanley made for Craftsman....These two planes make the No.6c look tiny.... Yep, will have to dig throught un-used tools some more...maybe next weekend, I can trade a bit more,....IF I can keep others out of the place...LOL
February 4, 201610 yr Author Almost. Junk-n-the-Box, Huntsville,OH..... Got a pair of thumbscrews and a bit of Black Walnut. A little bandsaw work to make a fence The Wards #78 did most of the rebate, tuned it up with the wood bodied rebate plane. Two holes to almost match the two in the side of the plane.. The one out of the bag came from Home Depot...takes a 1/4" allen wrench to use...meh. The one IN the bag came from Lowes. 5/16" by 18. Added a washer to the two bagged thumbscrews.. The fine tuning was to get the fence over to the mouth opening. Much easier to install. Either way, the plane does work.. And, also today, switched out the torn up depth adjuster wheel, and installed a better on. Should be about ready to go?
