January 21, 201610 yr comment_64606 Just a PIP of where this box is at.. I usually have a bit of trouble, when hinges get used.. But at least these don't bind up....lots of fine tuning to do, yet.. Need to decide on some latches of some sort....gathering a few tools to toss inside when this box is done.. Well,it is a start.... Report
January 21, 201610 yr comment_64607 WOW! Those dovetails turned out super and I like that decorative edge around the bottom, too! Report
January 21, 201610 yr comment_64609 Steve that turned really cool, I love it. The breadboard ends on the lids were a nice touch too. This box reminds me of a box my dad used own and was used for plumbers tools, pipe wrenches, a blow torch and it all fit nicely. Thanks for the tour along of this project, I have enjoyed it. Report
January 21, 201610 yr comment_64614 I love it! Nice tight dovetails, bread board ends on the lids and a sweet reveal around the bottom. I had heard a rumor that maybe the lids might sport some walnut. Must not have been true. Report
January 21, 201610 yr Author comment_64615 Gene: I have the Walnut blanks cut out for the lid, and they will be at the ends as a dust seal....as soon as I finish fine tuning them lids. Box is patterned after a 1920s Stanley No. 888 Tool Box. They were made from all walnut, I'll add a bit to mine. Report
January 21, 201610 yr comment_64616 That is one really cool looking tool box! Nice job on the dovetails! You are the master. I'll have to be on the look for one of the 1920 models. Report
January 21, 201610 yr comment_64620 nice job. Ya might put chains (or something) on the lids to prevent them from flipping hard and putting strain on the hinge screws Report
