I am having some trouble with my phone (and tech skills). You asked which belts and I tried to answer both but it wouldn't happen. Here's my real problem. I have several 'disks' of cedar that I want to make into clocks. I was told that a drum sander was a necessity. It fell in my lap. Now I need to know how. I also have these 2 below. Have you ever seen anything like them? Thanks in advance for your patience and I hope I haven't dumped too much at once you.

As far as your disks, those are cool, great for clocks! Cedar cross cuts from a log are great for clock projects.

Yes a drum sander is very convenient for getting those nice and even and flat, but not a necessity, but since you had that sander fall in your lap, it's a great thing.

So, where are we at right now, what do you need to get that sander functional, give me a punch list.

I used the video and got the belt off. Thanks. Now I have seen conveyor belts for $30ish on line. We also have a Lowe's and Menards in the area. No woodworking stores tho. Where should I go for decent quality?

Oh, and what grit on replacement drums?

Hoping to get more feedback from other Performax users, it's been a long time since I used mine, so anyone out there that can help Rob with the use and maintenance of this machine?

If these are new cuts it would be a good idea to slather some coats of sanding sealer on them "now" to minimize cracking and let them dry for six months or more.

Rob I cannot help on the belt , but as to paper / grit for drum. I usually keep 80 on mine but do occasionally switch if I have a large project to get smoothed out. Now as to where to purchase. I have started buying in long rolls and cutting to size.  It comes from Peachtree but I got it on Amazon.
