August 23, 201510 yr Well, one place we stopped at had a few hand tools. Picked a ring, it was holding a few wrenches And that thing they are laying on. Wrenches are SAE sizes. The thing they are laying on? Called a Speeder bar. You can "speed" a bolt or nut on or off with this. 1/2" Drive. A bit on the rusty side... Ok, have spent $2 so far....next stop They had a 4x8 sheet on some saw horses....most of the tools laid out on it were ...$1 including these three Stanley chisels. the wider one is 1", the other two are 3/4". The black handled ones appear to be a firmer style. Also on the "table" was the only plane seen today Well, at least it was plane-shaped. Made in England, a Stanley SB4. Had issues with it.... Iron was "pretty"..as in pretty chewed up. Took the chisels down to the Rehab Center.. backs look just like the edges do..now. They were a bit nicked up. Now, about that $1 plane. flattened the iron, and the sole. Cleaned the sides. Label was loose, and finally flew off...somewhere Those shavings? Well, I did manage to get the iron sharper than it was. Set up the test track I think it might just do..for a $1 plane. the design looked firmiliar... Turns out my Windsor #33 is just a #3 sized version of this Stanley #4. The Windsor came from Harbour Freight. I also cleaned off the test track.. Millers falls 56B. Cost more than the other two put together. Oh, and about that scratched up sole on the SB4? May not be a mirror polish, but a layer of candle wax does help. Much better, now. The Boss spent a bit more than I did. Not too bad..for just $6??
