Flag display box plans?

Need a plan for a burial flag box.   Late father-in-law's flag needs a box.   Angles?  Glass?  Back?   Joints?  

 

BTW:   I just got MY military ID today!   Good til I turn 65.....

i MIGHT have enough of that White oak to use for this.    Flag was upstairs in a closet, in the room that had a fire.....that was close!

 

Boss wants a case for it, since it is her dad's burial flag.

Here's one I made, thinking you guys would appreciate it. The flag case is pretty standard fare, the base and pedestal are nothing special. Picked up the coins online at a fair price...all in all it turned out pretty nice and was warmy recieved.

That's a beautiful design Bill, really nice and unique. I love the dark tone of the finish and the the place for the photo is especially a nice touch. I can tell you put your heart into it, great job sir, and I am sure the family loved it.

actually this was a project that my grandson and I took on for his great grandfather....in many regards a worth while project.

As a side note to this, and that video going around about starting  a B-17 Bomber......Late FIL  was an instructor teaching kids to fly those planes.   Later served a tour in North Africa.    Buddy of his was Joel MacCrea....(sp)....a bit before my  time.    Mustered out as a MSGT in 46..

The boys great-grandfather was a fine fellow and took great pride in his service to country. This display case sits proudly on a mantel at

one of his daughters home.

My appologies John, I just seen you had posted. Regarding the picture, that was a "surprise" when my grandson presented the case w/flag to the 2 daughters. I wasn't there when he gave it to them but from what I was told, wasn't a dry eye in the house...sometimes things just kinda work out ya know...
