May 6, 201511 yr I have been working on this custom green egg table and got it all finished and delivered Saturday. So this is my SketchUp drawing of the table and how it should look. And below is the table that was finished and delivered and the Extra Large Green Egg and a Baby Egg. The table is cedar with a solid top. Between the cedar boards are 1" strips of Walnut. The skirts around the table are Walnut. The outside legs are 4" cedar and the inside support legs are 3" square. Are the shelves are cedar. I use 4" casters and the two in the front are lockable. This was a very nice table and the customer was excited. He didn't know that I was going to do the Walnut accents. He really loves walnut but thought the table was going to be all cedar. I just love it when you can surprise them and they really like what you have done with the project. Well we are working on more so I will post more pictures of other custom tables.
May 7, 201511 yr Nice jog on both the table and the drawing! Where did you find the caster components for the Sketchup drawing?
May 7, 201511 yr That walnut definitely looks cool John, I know how ya feel when you throw a little extra in there for the customer, they love feeling like you went the extra mile, and it feels good too on our end. Those green egg tables are going to have to be trademarked soon!
May 7, 201511 yr Author Those green egg tables are going to have to be trademarked soon! We have orders for five more right now John. They are doing well here so we are trying to stay up with them. I have another custom one I an working on in SketchUp that has cabinets on the bottom. I'll post it when I get the drawing far enough along.
May 7, 201511 yr Author Nice jog on both the table and the drawing! Where did you find the caster components for the Sketchup drawing? Lew I went out to the 3D Warehouse and did a search on 4" casters and found them after scrolling through several pages. You can then import them into your SketchUp to use in your own drawings.
May 7, 201511 yr Nice job~!! I've never seen one of those Eggs in use. A local pool and patio place has them but I've not seen one used.
May 8, 201511 yr Those tables are quite nice, and it sounds like you've built a following for them. It also sounds like there are a lot of Green Eggs down south. Most folks around me haven't even heard of them . Anyway, nicely done.....
May 8, 201511 yr Author They are a big thing here. Ceramic Cookers and you can cook most anything in them. I know folks that do pizza and all kinds of meat. They are very good about holding a temp when you get it set. So if you want to cook something at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, once you get it set it stays there. There is a huge following of Green Egg folks.
May 10, 201511 yr darn, that is nice!! The Walnut is one of my favorite woods and the way you used it is great. I have only one word to say.........GREAT!

They seem like a niche market for sure. They also seem a bit above the typical Home Depot 145 dollar barbecue grill!
December 9, 20196 yr Before today I had no idea what a Big green egg was... I thought the hole in the table was for an ostrich egg or something...
