Mike, that is one heck of a prototype, love it!

It appears the balls are just resting on the shelf, yet I imagine there must be a divot the ball is sitting in correct?

Hi John

I used a 3/4" cove router bit set up on the drill press to make the divots for the balls.

Works great

Very nice! It's a clean piece of work you got there Mike, very nice and clean. Flawless. So if you get the order, are you going to jig up for the production in any way?

Way cool~!! Both the case and the work.

Really cool and the ball in the lower left hand corner really classes it up.  Go Irish!

Thanks everyone for the comments.

To John--Knowing that I may be going into full mass production mode soon, I was careful in writing down all of the sizes for each piece and preparing the jigs(dado jig, divot jig, frame jig ) to use when the time comes.

You thought ahead Mike.  I sold a prototype once becasue I made the item on a whim not knowing if there was a market.  Then I had to scramble to re-create it.

Mike

Just beautiful work. Glad to read you had the foresight to make sure you were ready for production.

Mike that is a great looking display case. My first one was a little larger than that and was only going to hold golf ball that from places I played. But when I put it out and people came into my office pretty soon I was run over with golf balls. People started sending me golf balls from every where and kind. I have them on the rack by type. College balls are together, insurance company's, communication company's and so on.

Anyway after I got so many I needed a bigger rack. I picked up the lumber from a mill shop and while I was waiting to get it going, my dad got the lumber and built it for me. He came by my office one day and brought it in. Excited he had done it and it will forever be with me now. Not real fancy, but it displays 320 golf balls.
