September 10, 201411 yr Some time back I was cutting some dovetails in the shop for a cedar chest I was building. I use the Dovetail Wiz jig from Peachtree Woodworking Supply. When I got it I got the one that would allow me to cut up to 30" of dovetails. When I made this video I had already cut the pins and was cutting the tails. They layout and alignment is very simple and easy to go from the pins to the tails. http://vid808.photobucket.com/albums/zz3/johnmodi/IMG_0314.mp4 Allen, Ron and I used this jig to cut the dovetails in the Walnut Chest we made while they were visiting with me. If you are looking for a easy to use and setup dovetail jig that will cut 15" to what every you want this is a really good jig and a good price. I have two routers that are setup with the dovetail bit and the straight bit. I don't have to make adjustments, just get the one to cut either tails or pins.
September 10, 201411 yr That is really great to be able to cut dovetails on really wide boards. My old Porter Cable one isn't nearly that wide.
September 10, 201411 yr Size really does make a difference Lew. I have the same jig as John but is only 12". I need to order another 12".
