Making a list and checking it twice

Featured Replies

So if you are making your Christmas list for Santa, what would you like to have to add to your shop.

Let's keep it woodworking!

8" diamond grinding wheel

Clear Vue Cyclone

Drum Sander like John Moody has

Woodchuck pen pro turning tool

Oh and a Morris rocking chair (hint, hint)

drum sander, lathe, and belt/disc sander combo

are on my wish list

Start checking dumpsters and garbage day for thrown out furniture.

Also go to craigslist and see who's giving away furniture, you may find some good wood/tabletops/etc. you can use.

A shop with HEAT! Maybe a few hundred board feet of lumber, just to play around with. I'm about out of wood to use, no $$$ for any more. Tools? I've got about all I need to do what I do out there. New blades, maybe.

I want a 50'x50' shop, 3 walker turner tablesaws, one with a sled, a BIG CNC machine, a BIGGER bandsaw, More bench room, and a pretty helper about 35, Blonde, 5'6'' and rich!!!!

The big items on my wish list.

A 15" planer

Floor standing Drill Press, would really like it to have VS.

Ceiling mounted Air Filtration system.

12" SCMS

LN Jack Plane

WorkSharp 3000

Branding Iron

I reserve the right to add more to this list as I think of more things up until December 25th.

Instead of the worksharp, look at this http://www.veritastools.com/Products/Page.aspx?p=162

let's see,

The entire line up of Lie Nielsen hand tools, I mean the whole kit and caboodle. Wait, is your question fantasy or real?

If it's real then

A rabbeting plane from Lie Nielsen

A nice Paxton dovetail saw

and a Work Sharp 3000.

I love Mikes helper idea, but I don't think my wife would go for that. You see, she is from Panama, and she knows how to use a machete very efficiently. Ugly things happen with machete's. Especially when one is sleeping, you all remember Lorena Bobbit?

If that doesn't keep you honest, nothing will!!!

If I got Mike's helper I would never be allowed in the shop again so I wouldn't need any tools.

I'm also reserving the right to add on to the list!!!

Hello John,

I am so fortunate to have a great family in my wife, daughter, son in law and my precious granddaughter, I have every thing I could ever ask for as they truly have been good to me over the years and last year I told them they didn't need to buy me any tools but, instead it they wanted they could buy me some of the work clothes I wear day in and day out.

I have been blessed to have them for they have over the years given me the best high quality tools that any man could ask for.

Every time I ask them what they want they always say nothing special. Since I don't know their sizes, I let my wife do all the buying over the Home Shopping channel or through QVC. She is such a procrastinator that we end up paying the extra charge to get a package before Christmas.

I might add a grove full of Walnut Trees.Grin.gif

Oh yeah, a legacy mill with a 12 ft. bed and a laser machine.
