Lets See Your Christmas Projects!

Featured Replies

I know a lot of Elves here have been busy in their shops for that last push towards Christmas. Does anyone have any photos of their Christmas gifts? Go ahead, step up and post em here!

I got the first of two Cedar Chest delivered this past Saturday.

This is a Mitten Chest, it is 24" wide, 16" deep, 15" high. It has the torsion hinges on the lid so it will stay where you put it.

The other orders will be picked up tomorrow night and Thursday. I will post pictures of those when they are ready.

Thanks

I'd already posted a picture of the bookcase I made for my son, but here's one showing how he put it to use.

I'm too busy building watch cases for everyone else.  I don't have time for my next project, which by the way will be an oak porch swing for my brother.  You listening Bob?

哇,真的很棒ï¼ï¼ï¼

Finished painting the step stool and getting it ready for delivery tomorrow night.

Great job yall!! Every thing looks great! Joy, that is a cool table man! The whole picture is hip and cool.

I will translate for Joy, but you guys can use the google translator tool at "GOOGLE TRANSLATE"

His first post he said "Wow, really great!"

And his second post with the table he said "Just found a map, I feel really good"106.gif

Now, since I have been working with these translators, some times they just don't make sense, so you gotta look at the translation in context. I am guessing, that what we are looking at is a mapping table that Joy feels pretty good and proud of.

Great job Joy!!!

干得好 Joy!!!

Great designs all the way around!!!

We shop all year round when we're out and about and my wife sees something she thinks the grandkids will like, we take it home and stuff it away and wait for Christmas to give it to them.  (After we were putting this project together we remembered all the little Corvettes we'd gotten at the Corvette Museum last spring.  Guess we have a start on next Christmas already.)  Last summer she ran across some hand puppets and thought they were cute, so all the sudden we're standing in line loaded down with puppets.  Then later on she got the idea that as long as they were getting puppets they probably needed a puppet stage to go along, so that's where I got assigned my part of it.  I made three of them and she did the curtains.  A couple years ago I bought a vinyl cutter but really haven't used it much at all yet, but this gave me a chance to try it out again and I cut the lettering for the stages.  I took one of the stages to Nashville last week and hid it in my daughter's basement, now we've got to figure out she's going to get another one loaded in the van that's full of kids to take it home.

Those are way too neat Roy.

Those grand kids should have a lot of fun with those. That is one great idea.

Best of luck in getting them there. I bet they have will be excited.

Sorry about the quality of the pictures, they seem a little dark.

I am just relieved that I got all of these finished and delivered.

Wheeeedoggy! Can you say tight tails! Dovetails that is! Those are sweat John. Great job and what great warm color that old cedar gives off, is this the same cedar as the planks you pulled from that old structure?113.gif

No this is some I purchased to build the two orders. I didn't want to use the other customers cedar for these. They have a coat of BLO and then several coats of Shellac and then a couple of coats of Pratt and Lamberts #38 satin finish. Sprayed the shellac and varnish.

I took a few notes for Richard and setup a makeshift spray booth in my shop using some plastic and the rails to the garage door. Put a fan at the bottom of the door and it seemed like all was good. BTW, thanks Richard!

mission style limbert table made from curly cherry, kept for our house and the rocking horse made for my wifes favorite charity-second chance cat shelter made from tiger maple and walnut. It was auctioned off for $200 and some child is going to have a great present this year.I  joined the woodworkers ranks about 3 years ago. mikening-img-0048-51062-24.jpg?width=721ning-img-0143-51062-95.jpg?width=721ning-img-0148-51062-6.jpg?width=721
