February 4, 201115 yr comment_49780 Good Morning Friends,Today is the first day of the Columbus Woodworking Show at the state fairgrounds and I will be joining Jim Heavey in the WOOD MAGAZINE booth as I have in the past and I hope to see some of you folks to once again shake to shake your hand.Tomorrow I will be interviewing Jim for my RJW America show as well as to tape a portion of one of his presentations. I have yet to sit in on one of his presentations that I didn't learn something new as I know that many of you will do the same. I hope to see some of you folks there either today or Saturday, the doors open today at noon and 10:00 AM tomorrow. Ralph Report
February 4, 201115 yr comment_49805 Okay, Ralph, we need a roving reporter at the show. Give us the full report with pictures and everything. Hey go over to the Peachtree booth and tell the guy that does the dovetail jig demo (he usually wear a cowboy hat) I have made three chest using that jig and love it. Report

February 4, 201115 yr comment_49803 Thanks Ralph, I would tell him myself, but no show in our area this year. Have a great time and don't forget to give us a good report. Ralph Allen Jones said:Hi John,I'll make it a point to see him and will relay your message. February 4, 201115 yr Author comment_49802 Hi John,I'm home and boy what a day. I went straightaway to Tex as they call him and told him what you said and he asked me to tell you thanks. Also today I bought a finger joint bit with a half inch shank and got a vendors discount and the bit only cost me $32.28 including tax.I am looking forward to tomorrow for I will interview Jim Heavey and my producer will tape some of his presentation. Then we may tour the show as well as to go up on the mezzenine for a panoramic view of the show over all. Then after editing it will be on You Tube. Ralph Report
February 4, 201115 yr comment_49801 Thanks Ralph, he probably had no idea who I was, but I liked his presentation of the jig. I did purchase it at the show last year and have been very happy with it. Glad you had a good day at the show. Was the attendance good? See anything new that we just can't live without in the shop? Report
February 4, 201115 yr Author comment_49800 Hi john,Yes, the attendance was very good considering that it was only 12º this morning.Yes, I always see things I would like to have in my shop but the finances are rather thin due to having to pay for some of the video work and such. However it will all come back after I get better recognised. Ralph Report

February 5, 201115 yr Author comment_49794 Good Evening Fellows,I will make it a point to get high enough to do a panoramic view of the show and all of the people, if tomorrow is anything like today we should be very crowded. My voice almost gave out around 2:30 but I didn't leave till after 3:00 for I had sone stops on the way home before the stores closed. With all of the people I talked with RJW America is getting good reviews. Many asked why hadn't someone else come up with this idea before? When I got home tonight my attorney had emailed me asking how I wanted the corporation to read "Inc.", "Company" or "Ltd?" I chose Inc since I am the sole owner and at this time will not have any other authority for RJW America. Report

February 5, 201115 yr Author comment_49789 Hi Ron,Explain LLC to me for it is way above my means. I did however request it to be Inc. but if you think the LLC would be better I can contact her Monday. Ralph Ron Dudelston said:Ralph, look into an LLC. It may make more sense.Ralph Allen Jones said:Good Evening Fellows,I will make it a point to get high enough to do a panoramic view of the show and all of the people, if tomorrow is anything like today we should be very crowded. My voice almost gave out around 2:30 but I didn't leave till after 3:00 for I had sone stops on the way home before the stores closed. With all of the people I talked with RJW America is getting good reviews. February 5, 201115 yr Author comment_49788 Good Evening Fellows,I just got home from the Woodworking show and I have some pictures that I took while there and I will post them on another post or a new post. Ralph Report
February 6, 201115 yr comment_49787 I went to the Columbus show Saturday and met Ralph. He remembered seeing me last year and we had a very nice visit. The project RJW sounds to be great and Ralph is most certainly the man to head that endeavor. For those who don't know Ralph, he is a very energetic, focused, and dedicated individual in my opinion. I wish him well.Jim Heavy does a fantastic job with his seminars and, even though some of the topics covered are "old news", I listened closely and learned somethings new. Just proves that you never know too much, you just think you do.The show overall seemed to be much better than last years show and the vendors, or reps from the various companies seemed to have more energy than in the past. There was a feeling of excitement on the floor, and a lot of interest created by the displays. My only complaint, and please don't think I'm a prude or something, is the fact that the concessions were selling beer, (I drink too now and then), and I saw many people walking around with beer in hand at the displays. This can led to problems down the road, does not lend well to a family atmosphere, and, in my opinion, is just not necessary.
