March 22, 201115 yr Good Evening Friends,When you reply to a post or for that matter add a new post there is a flag on the bottom left under the smiley faces that states Stop Following - Don't email me when people reply. Now if you do that and go to a topic you will see the posters post and the replies received for that post directly under it with the first person who replied and then all other replies are below the first replier. If you choose to use Stop Following, You won't receive an email of the last replier and then you won't get confused as to who replied first. As I stated earlier I look for the topic in the email and who replied and when I read all of the replies to that post I go back and close all of the other emails for I have already read their replies. Start with the bottom email pertaining to that topic. I sure hope I haven't confused anyone.
March 23, 201115 yr Author I think I can make that work Jim, as far as putting the content of the post in the email message. Let me see what I can do. The pulse button, let me check on that too. I'm at your service fellas! A-1 Jim said: I think as far as keeping up on new post it might help if the emails we receive had the response in them that was made so we know if we want to comment further. Some of the other sites do it that way . I also talked to John about a pulse button that basically shows all the comments made that day ,who made the original post and who commented last this is placed in the corner of each post so you don't have to keep going back and forth. This would duplicate the most resent activity area but in list form. As I told John I'm not a programmer so all this might take up to much memory or be to complicated to do.
March 23, 201115 yr I, like Ralph, like the email and do spend tome just looking at my mail and it tells me where to go. I REALLY liked the newest replies on the front page cause 1 click and I could see all of the new replies None of the spammers are getting past the settings you have now john. I suggested a few changes to the front page like putting the forums in boxes (without the explanation sentences) and put in the replies. He says this sounds like a good compromise. I STILL would rather the boxes with the forums above like this WOODWORKING  I  HOME IMPROV  I  TURNING  I  METAL  FINISHING I  FOR SALE I  HOBBIES I  FREESPACE Then in this space going down all the recent replies Â
March 23, 201115 yr I have done the "stop following" thing on a few of the forums and I still get emails. Am I doing something wrong?Like this topic is marked "stop following" and I still get emails every time someone answers. I just delete most of the emails I get and go through the forums one by one. I must be a different bird I guess. Whatever you folks want to do is fine with me. John , you work hard on this site and its your call. Thanks so much for all you do to make this work. bob
March 23, 201115 yr Author Thanks for reporting that Bob. These are the issues that we need to get fixed. For now, if you'd like, and it might be more then you want to do, maybe you like getting some emails, but for now you can go to "Settings" in your private little box at the upper right of this site, then click on "Email" and you can customize your settings in that manner. And I'll try to get that little glitch of yours figured out. Thanks a million Bob!Bob Kloes said:I have done the "stop following" thing on a few of the forums and I still get emails. March 25, 201115 yr John...........2 things that I would like to see.1) I would like to see the forum catagory choice placed at the top, because I always forget and post in the introduce yourself forum.2) I would like the ability to edit at anytime after posting. I just posted a while ago and even within a couple of minutes of re-reading, I was locked out of editing my post.
