It's Friday, What's on your Bench

Featured Replies

Okay you all know what day it is so what's on the agenda for this weekend.

I will be working on cutting boards. I have got to get five done this weekend so that will be most of the weekend.

I thought I was going to finish this a few weeks ago, but I have a small special order table that I just like tapering the legs and cutting the mortises. I hope while I am waiting on glue to dry I can knock that out.

So what about you, what's on your agenda in the shop this weekend???

No you need to be consistent....re-name this postGrin.gifGrin.gifGrin.gifGrin.gif

Wonderful John! Working on my other chair, trying to catch it up with the first one I started. I should have them both caught up in a couple weeks. Then I am working towards a finish time at the end of April.

Thanks for asking!

Well while it is pouring down rain here I have been in the shop since mid morning. I have two cutting boards in the final glue up, one more ready for the final glue up and waiting right now to take the forth one out of the clamps and get it ready. If I can get it cut and final glued tonight, tomorrow afternoon will be running the drum sander. Got to have all of these finished for First Friday next Friday.

Took a little time during glue ups to clean up and put some stuff away in the shop. Where does all this stuff come from, I know I don't leave it all out.Grin.gif

Will try to get some picture before the weekend is over.

Oh dear lord is it Friday?

It's Saturday?!?!?

Oh crud, I'm screwed.....................

Okay, it is time to start seeing some progress reports. I'll have my pictures up later.., but I got four cutting boards almost finished. Ran them through the drum sander, just need to do the finish sanding to remove the sanding marks left by the drum sander. Got three more in the clamps that will come out tomorrow afternoon.

So how about the rest of you, what did you get done this weekend??

Actually, Mike..  It is Sunday here!  I'm working on some replacement screen frames for our screened-in porch..

Larry

Well, I'll try once more. Had a reply half written and it went away, so here goes again..

I have returned to TAW after a long absence due to some issues that are not important now.  Some of the original Gang will know what this means.

I'm still old.   Me and Ralph..  Gonna be 80 this October and I'm still some what opinionated about several issues, but I promise to try to be more civil and understanding.  I have some comments.

Because I joined John's rather thrilling adventure when it first started, we went though some depressing times trying to get new members and kicking each other with start-up and protocol issues to the point of getting a little irrational at times.  I really wondered sometimes if TAW would fly..   But that's past history.

Upon my return, I am very impressed with the very positive changes in TAW and the very nice membership numbers John has.  No spell checker, yet.  (Smile, John..)

I have many woodworking designs I would like to share plus images of our Model House and the Model Shop projects if any of you are interested.

Thanks John for allowing me to return.

My weekend starts Tuesday so I don't know if I'm ahead of you or behind.

The cradle is in S. Calif and being used by Great grand son who was born last week, so I'm working on some small projects waiting for the weather to warm up a bit. Still in the 30's with snow.

One of the things I'm finishing up is a small paper towel holder that Larry Jenkins had designed. In the coming weeks I want to start on a shelf-towel bar for the bathroom and go from there.

My hard part is just finding the time to do it!

Harry

Harry, where does your family live in California? Just curious if they are nearby me is all.

Not too far from you. We used to live in West Covina area. The factory we worked at closed in '06 and we moved to Montana.

Best move you made Harry! Some times what seems like a bummer at first, is actually a blessing isn't it.

I know what you mean Ace. I had family in this weekend also and three grandkids running around the house. I was a little later Saturday before I got to the shop, but I did manage to get a little time in. Glad they came and got to see them. The shop will be there when I get time.

I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the lowboy.
