November 28, 201114 yr Author comment_37593 Thanks Ron, Wayne, Allen, and Richard for the very kind comments. Just an update, she put a hot dish down on it not thinking Thursday and blistered the top. So I will be sanding the top down and refinishing it some time next week.  John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com Report
November 28, 201114 yr comment_37592 Woops! But then on the other hand, blistered and burnt tops on an island I find nice looking, looks like it's well used and adds a ton of character, but it's probably too early on the new side to be considered character at this point. Just curious John, had the customer thought of Butchers block for the top?John Moody said:Thanks Ron, Wayne, Allen, and Richard for the very kind comments. Just an update, she put a hot dish down on it not thinking Thursday and blistered the top. November 28, 201114 yr Author comment_37591 No she wasn't really wanting that look. I did show her some great looking cutting boards and trivets that she could easily get to put down on the top to sit hot things on though. Â Â John Morris said: Woops! November 28, 201114 yr comment_37590 If you have any of that Jatoba left over make her a cutting board/trivet out of it to set on the counter top so that you won't have to keep fixing the top. Allen WorshamCorona, CAallenworsham@earthlink.nethttp://www.awcreationsandwoodcrafts.com'Graze in every man's field, but always give your own milk' J.
