January 17, 201214 yr Author Gene, those are really cool looking boxes. Sorry about the problems with the legs, but they turned out looking really nice. As far as a finish you might try the Bee's wax/mineral oil mixture. I think there is a video posted here with the directions on mixing it up. I did a batch a few weeks back and it was pretty easy. It is a child safe finish.Gene Howe said: Couldn't get both in one post. Gene'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' G. K. January 17, 201214 yr Thanks a lot to both you and Greg. Great video of a simple process for a nice toy finish.I wonder what would be the result of dipping an object into the warm, still liquid solution? Hmmmmm.Gene'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' G. K. Chesterton
January 17, 201214 yr Gene, I don't see where that would be a problem, other than have some excess to wipe off in areas that you can't get into. If it's warm enough to be fairly thin it should work out good. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.Gene Howe said:Thanks a lot to both you and Greg.
