March 11, 201214 yr I picked up a load of lumber today from my friend Rob Durfos owner of Tule Peak Timber. Rob donated to The Patriot Woodworker a truck bed full of Madro 12/4 slab lumber! Man was I blown away. His employees Ray and Danny helped me load it all up and get me on my way, so thank you so much Ray and Danny! Tomorrow I am going to grab one of the slabs out of the pile and rip out some coin displays. I plan on getting about 20 made for our shipment next week. So with my displays added in with the gangs, we are going to have a nice inventory of displays to be handed out to our guys and gals who put it all on the line for us. Rob is a veteran, he loves our troops, and from what he tells me he thinks pretty highly of us here at The Patriot Woodworker. Thank you Rob, for your continued support and dedication to our cause. Rob has thought of ways he can help to keep us live on the web, and part of this big stash of Madrone is to be used to make items to be sold for the benefit of The Patriot Woodworker Community. I have some big ideas for this stuff. A few slab benches, a rocker, some chests, and most of the proceeds are going to our community to pay for our site and help keep us live and to provide support for The Wounded Warrior Project and Homes For Our Troops. Rob, your efforts and support are not in vain. We are here to stay, and we are forever grateful for your service and your support of The Patriot Woodworker. To our woodworking friends and members, Rob is a lumber supplier as well. He has some wonderful reclaimed timbers and slabs for sale if your ever in the area, or call him. He is very busy mostly with his bread and butter work. So his visits are by appointment only. And let me give you some advice, keep your appointment, and don't be late! Thank You Tule Peak Timber. March 11, 201214 yr Author Greg, Rob is that way. If your ever in the area here in So Cal, or anyone for that matter, give Rob a heads up a week or so in advance and he'll tour you around his mill/ranch. It's quite impressive what he has accomplished in such a short time. You'll be amazed.Greg Aksdal said:It's amazing how generous people can be sometimes. GregScroll Saw forum hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Wounded Warrior Project and Homes For Our Troops

March 12, 201214 yr Author Charles, in all seriousness, we should have plenty of cutoffs that can be made into pen blanks. March 13, 201214 yr I want to again say thanks to Tule Peak Timber, those folks show the true meaning of Patriotism and make me proud to be American. To give for the sake of helping troops, is truly noble. And I would add, that anyone getting to use any of this wood should feel privileged to be able to make some thing from it to support the troops. thanks againrussNo greater Loves than God, Family, Friends, country, the sight of flying chips and the smell of saw dust.
