Well I got 2 projects going.  Wife decided I  need to make cutting boards since I made one earlier this year.  She waited till last Monday to tell me.  Check my lumber and I had enough stripes cut to make 4 cutting boards.  Got them sanded to 220 grit and hopefully get to them sanded to at least 320 grit but shooting for 400 grit. Then put them to the router to round the edges some.ning-100-1218-20259-84.jpg?width=721

The other project is rather different.  Got 2 spindles I'm make to repair the broken one on my mother rocking chair.  She wanted me to fix them.  I told her I did not have lathe, her comment was just put a dowel on it.  Sounds more of what my dad would do.  Any way, in using a Dremel tool and doing what some would call power wood carving.  Dirty and very dusty work.  I done some years ago but never really got the hang of it.  Here what I got done so far.

ning-100-1216-20259-54.jpg?width=721Definitely wish I had an lathe.  It not perfect, but fairly close.   I have both done and ready to stain.  I'll have to try to match the stain as close as I can.  To my mom that probably won't matter.  She just would happy to get it fix.

Thanks

Nice cutting boards Wayne and very creative on the spindles.

I sand my edge grain boards to 220 grit, but I sand the end grain boards to at least 400 grit before putting the mineral oil on.

Beautiful bowls. I love the natural edge bowls but they all look great.

Well I finished up my year of Craft Shows with a great show Friday night. It is an out door event and for the first Friday in December is was great. 60 degrees and lots of shoppers ready to get into the Christmas season.

ning-photo-20253-67.jpgHere is a shot of my booth with my red and green Christmas table covers.

I almost sold out of cutting boards. I have one large end grain board left, one large edge grain board, two medium and four small boards. Now it is time to start putting things together and get ready for next year which for me will begin the first Friday of March. It will be here before we know it.

Hope all of you had a great weekend working on the projects you had. Give us an update on how your weekend went.

Well I wasn't able to get much done due to lathe issues again but i did get a couple of things out of the way. i wanted to make a few snowman ornaments for a local friend and her family. Unfortunately i did not get an updated picture of them before the friend whisked them out of here this morning, so this is the only image I have.
