December 15, 201213 yr Thanks, John - Found out a trick AFTER making my first one.  I now put the part number in an inconspicuous place on each part.  Makes it a whole lot easier.Yes, I love the nativity as well - a great seller (about 5 a year) all made from 3/4" matched red oak.  Exotics for the trim pieces.  (And the "picker upper" ain't too bad either  [grin] )John Moody said:Fred those are great. I don't if I could keep up with all those parts you have cut. LOLI love the nativity set. That is really nice.Fred Wilson said:John MoodySite AdministratorJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com

December 16, 201213 yr My started with our last show of the year. we were very comfortable with our inventory levels going into this show however about halfway through the show we foud ourselves sold out of 14 items. this means that instead of taking the month of January to clean and organize our shop we will be busy replcing inventory. My projects for tomorrow are 3 special order cuttig boards ad 3 pizza peels for Christmass delivery.Round Barn WoodCrafts, Plymouth WIroundbarnwoodcrafts@hotmail.com
December 16, 201213 yr Finish the cutting boards Friday night. Was little worried they were not absorbing the mineral oil fast enough to suit me. But was able to get them back in the shop from the kitchen before my wife got home. Got the second coat of oil on about 6 PM. One for by brother -in law and his wife who came by today and one for their son and his wife. Sort of exchange present while they were here and they were real impress with the cutting board. Also got my mom rocking chair back together. I need to put a coat of either laquor (spell check can spell either) or varnish on the part I made to fix the rocker. Made do that Sunday before I head off to work. Here a picture of the cutting boards about 900 pm Friday night. Also got started on making the router table top. Not sure yet if I'll make it 1 1/2" or 2 " thick yet. I'm leaning toward 1 1/2 inch. Mom chair. Router table top. Got 2  pieces glue together so far. I got another 1/2 piece to add to this and that be 1 1/2" thick. Wayne E Wayne E

Wanted to steam bend some edge banding for a couple of them but cannot locate a reasonably priced (aka cheap) heat source. Edit: top rite 3- oiled boards one is all walnut; Center 2- trivets w/ poly; bottom left- 2 trivets no finish considering edge trim of maple. December 16, 201213 yr Nice job on the boards Wayne. Do you know what type of finish is on the rest of the chair? Supposedly you can tell if it's lacquer by a light sanding with very fine grit in an inconspicuous area and seeing if the dust is white. I'm not exactly sure on how this works or if you can tell for certain though. hopefully somebody with more film finish experience chimes in.
