This afternoon I was turning down a piece on my mini lathe and shut it off for a quick look see. It would not restart. I started moving things so I do a troubleshoot. I know that the motor is DC and has a solid state speed control. I was hoping I would find something simple and easy to fix. I did. Inside the control box a wire had came out of the stake on connector that was attached to the switch. Then I recalled how many times that the toggle type switch was loose and I tightened it with my fingers. I guess the movement of the switch allowed a poorly attached connection to just slip out. This time I did it right. I checked all other connections and installed new ones where it looks like I could have a problem in the future. Sure am glad it was't that expensive speed control
