Well again I'm impressed with packaging. I received it today, ups guy was late with it came back to my place after his deliveries were done and dropped it off for me which was nice. Product came in great condition. I have yet to use this tool but I'm sure I will be using it plenty. Over all tool length is good. Will be interesting once I start using it for hollowing but it will be better than the PSI tools I was using previously. I was expecting it this morning how ever as I said UPS guy was LATE shame. Either way here's what you can expect when ordering these tools.... They are quite ni

The Patriot Woodworker's are honored to have this Easy Wood Tools Hollower #2 donated by an anonymous Patriot Woodworker for the purpose of our Summer 2020 Fundraiser. I bought an Easy Hollower by Easy Wood Tools some months ago. I bought it without the handle with the idea of making something special for it. I figured I should make the tool removable since there are other hollowing tools available for future purchase possibilities. I had a piece of 1.5" diameter steel rod out in the metal shop so I cut a 4" piece off and took it to the metal lathe and drilled a .5" hole 3" deep for the tool tang. I stuck the end with the hole in the chuck and turned 3" of the shaft down to .875" (7/8) diameter to be inserted into the wood handle.

One of my goals this week was to figure something out for a laser pointer for my boring bar, which I haven't used yet. My brother, who did most(all)of the fabrication on it keeps asking me when I'm going to use it. So, I'm one step closer. To be honest, when the week started I didn't know exactly how I was going to do it. This is what I came up with. The post is 3/4" black iron pipe and the pointer arm 1/2" iron pipe. The block is glued up from 5 pieces of baltic birch 3/4" plywood.

I often thought the hollowing tool should have a guide that kept the cutting edge from going too deep to keep from getting catches. This tool looks to be the answer. Here is a video I ran across. Skip to appx. the two and a half minute mark to just see the tool working. Looks interesting.
