Today I finished and hung my Christmas tree ornament display above the fireplace. It is 6 feet tall with 76 ornaments that I made of mostly of exotic woods. That includes the angel on top. I've made about 150, I do NOT sell them, I give them to my wife, daughters and grandchildren. I've made over 150 and enjoy each and every one

This is my entrance to more art than crafts. Many people use their wood to demonstrate their skills. I use a minimum of skills to demonstrate the wood. I am privileged to be the first one to peek inside what God made. So, this is a wall hanging, mostly from scraps,and exploring various finishes. Lignum vitae, red oak, walnut, sepele, hickory, cherry, lace wood, mulberry with finishes of Waterlox, poly, BLO, beeswax. I will work on the framework to make it simpler. Right now, it is a bunch of aluminum wire and hot glue. Starting on Swoosh II today.

This first one, the holes were drilled with a new regular drill bit. The last five clocks, the holes were drilled with a forstner bit. The first clock did not hang straight. It now hangs crooked in my shop as a reminder. The plans were about 24" long and I enlarged them. If it was to hang on the wall, I wanted it to take up a bunch of that wall. My shop walls are covered with reminders, good and bad! I made a large clock that featured a lot of art shapes. The more I looked at it,the more I thought two of the shapes looked line a bird in flight. So I made a wall hanger with that thought in mind.
