Our Daughter is Officially a Veteran Now
John Morris posted a topic in The Veterans Corner and Causes Forum
September 10 2024, was the last day of service to our nation by our daughter SGT. Tiffany Morris. 5 years in the Army, and we couldn't be more proud of our girl! This girl toughed it out through thick n thin, away from her family and friends, in far off places around our nation, in far off places away from our country. Basic Training in Ft. Jackson South Carolina where she completed BCT with a fractured pelvic, one tough girl there! Then on to linguist school for the Russian language at Monterey California, AIT in Texas, then to her permanent duty station Ft Stewart Georgia. A mission in Germany to support the efforts for the Ukraine, then back to the USA where she climbed the ladder to SGT. E5 while attending a grueling NCO training school full of night time solo navigation through the swamps and long nights and long days to learn to become an NCO. As a young NCO she had to deal with troop situational issues, and discipline when necessary. This girl is tough, and through it all she stayed our Tiffany, she has not changed, she is still the wonderful sweet and smart and funny girl she was when she left us that long 5 years ago. She is a civilian now! And a Veteran! Thank you Tiffany Morris for your Honorable Service to our nation, and to all our Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen, thank you for keeping us safe! Right now, Tiffany and mama are returning home via a long drive in her car through the Southern states, they are having a wonderful Mom and Daughter time, mama was with her when she signed out of the Army, I wish I could have been there too but work calls, but my heart has been with them both this last week, happy travels girls and we'll see you soon! Tiffany and mama, they are trying to get through the sign out process, it's taking a couple days. Tiffany says good bye to some of her buddies in her company. Even mama got into the fun and posed with some of our young patriots. Their last day at Ft Stewart GA, they visited a favorite pond on base on their way off base for the last time. Last day, SGT Morris is making her way around the different locations on base, turning in her gear a few days ago, and doing final paperwork. She was a soldier in the 10th Engineer Battalion, 3rd ID. There is a storied past dating back to WWI for this division. Well there we have it, she'll be home with us through the Holidays, then she is moving back to the South, South Carolina specifically where she plans on renting an apartment and going to school there, she fell in love with the south during her stay over the last several years in Georgia, and she plans on staying there. Thanks for sharing in the moment folks! -
