  1. Finished this picture. Don't know why it got my attention enough to spend time trying to recreate it with wood.. Still not glued in so the gaps are still showing. I used baltic birch on this picture..
  2. Yep, I find when I get down to the almost done portion of shaping this stuff I need to slow down and smell the roses, kinda...step back and observe, so, I find if I start an other picture I give myself more time to think what should I do in slow motion more or less.. So this is the next picture that has me thoughts..me thoughts on how nature does its thing whether good or bad, it works its magic of destruction like it or not.. So while I'm running this picture through my little brain I am still deciding how much more I can grind off here and there off the other picture and have things still definable to the general public of one of two total peoples... Amazing how this tree has wrapped around this obstruction....Fruitless mulberry grows like that here in my part of this world...but have no idea where this picture was taken???
  3. From the album: John's Shop

This is a shot of my shop looking in, from our driveway. This was a nice evening, things just felt right, and I walked off and out of my shop, looked back, and snapped this picture. I think it looks pretty cool. If you blow the image up, see the end of my workbench, one of my kids left some artwork on the surface.
  4. I was came across an old WOOD mag October 2008 and the cover featured the Splinter Car, a 200 MPH 700 HP very fast car, made from wood. In the magazine the car was not quite finished, but I dug up some images of the car and found a YouTube video on it, what amazing craftsmanship, and what a beautiful car if I may say so. But, what happens in an accident, sheesh, pin cushion? I bet they figured that out thought, you don't go into a project like this without engineering safety into it somehow.

  7. I do believe I would qualify for a VA Loan......not sure IF I want to buy a house. However, does the VA Loans also cove a vehicle buy? Just wondering... Too many medical bills on the credit reports......can't get a vehicle without putting ALL of what I'd get a month as a down payment. Yet,,,I was able to swing a car loan 2+yrs ago for what I drive now, even have it fully paid off. Not in a real need..yet, just finding options BEFORE i do need another Van. Not sure where to ask.
  8. From the album: FrankB

Made of different wood from cut trees.
