Alfred Shaker Museum (Alfred, Maine)

The Alfred Shaker Museum is housed in the 1875 former Shaker Carriage House building that was part of the Alfred Shaker Community. Located in Alfred, Maine this community was active from 1793-1931. The Christian Brothers of Instruction purchased the property in 1931 from the Shakers and are still in residence. The Shaker Museum is one of eight remaining Shaker buildings on Shaker Hill. There is also a beautifully maintained Shaker cemetery.
