@lew, do you care to share the angle of your dovetail marking jig?  I would love to make one.  I purchased one, but I am not happy with it.  Maybe, I need to practice.  Just as soon as I get time.....

@FlGatorwood, I am not sure of the exact angle. The way I made it was to lay out the ratio numbers on some scrap and copy the angle. I took a scrap of cardboard and marked 2 points 7” apart along the edge of it. Then from one of the points, using a square, I drew a line perpendicular to the edge. Marking a point at 1” one this line. Then drew a line from the 1” point to the other mark on the cardboard edge. 
 

What it ends up is a Right Triangle. 1” is the base and 7” is the altitude. The angle of the hypotenuse is the angle of the dovetail- 1:7

 

If that doesn’t make sense let me know and I’ll calculate the exact angle

Thanks, @lew. That is easier than I first imagined.  Now, I need to get that on a piece of paper and then transfer it to the wood I want to use as my pattern.  Thank you.
