Courtland Members May 7, 201511 yr Author stats How do you like the Alaskan mill Dale? Easy to use, does the chain saw push through ok?
Dale Felice Members May 10, 201511 yr Author stats Sorry Courtland... had not been on for a few but the Alaskan mill was good for the price plus Eric Granberg was easy to deal with. However this is intense workout. I wished they had a winch and table system like the logosol m7. If money allows I will graduate to them guys. But for now I have done many logs with this setup. I have the 20" mill 36" mill and the mini mill. They work very good. The idea is to get the first cut right.... the rest will follow. I'm using a husqvarna 395 xp which is gobs of power with a regular chain. It cuts just fine as long as chain is sharp. There are so many theories in chains vs saws vs this and that. Just cut lol. If ya want a mill then a 56" wheel with a 250hp cat disel will do it lol. But that's lumber production. The alaskan mill have done log homes from what I've seen. I believe it too. Just watch the saw powerhead and you will be fine.
