Beautiful John!

The woodworking is wonderful, but I am also curious how you did the cushion top? Is it a separate board with a cushion?

    2 pieces 1/2" plywood,framed with 1 piece of 1 1/4" oak the other piece is held to the bottom piece with t- nuts and 3/8" brass machine bolts,  install the t-nuts then upholster then mounted to the lid with bolts  that make it removable to change the upholster.
