Needing a new cabinet for our TV, we were in an Amish furniture and saw one that looked like this. "That's the one we want" said my wife, with no lack of conviction at all in her voice. Problem is that one was walnut and we wanted cherry. A year later she asked me if I was going to build it, so i had no choice. Going on some very basic dimensions and only my memory (shudder) of what the original looked like I was able to put it together. This was a first in many ways. I built a complete full scale mockup out of cheap chinese ply to get the angles and overall size suited for us. Because it was a complicated glue up (due to size, the largest single piece I've built) I used liquid hide glue. Not shown in the photos was a stile I had to add to the center of the electronics bay. It worked well without that center stile (no sag) with the first TV we had, but an upgrade to a heavier one did cause 1/8" of sag in the center so I added the stile. Sad thing, we really liked that cabinet, but the house we bought earlier this year had no space suited for it and we gave it away.
