Friday, May 10th, What's on your Woodworking Agenda this weekend?

Featured Replies

A historic day as the upper spire was set in place on One World Trade Center. This makes the new building 1776' in height, an important number n our nations history. It has taken six years to build this building. Obviously not as tall but in 1931 the Empire State Building which including the spire is 1454' and it took just one year and 45 days to complete. Remarkable feat!

So I am continuing to heal from surgery. Actually slept all night last night for the first time, but I am still in the recliner. No pain meds yesterday so it was a good day.

I did get to spend a little time in the shop feeding cutting boards one handed through the drum sander. My son got the glued up Andy sat there and fed them through. Never thought I would be excited about getting to sand.

So what is on your woodworking agenda this weekend? Are you starting a new project, finishing up a project, making craft show inventory, attending a craft show, building items for the shop, yard work, or getting a little R&R after a long week? We here at TPW are always interested in your projects and love to see pictures of your woodwork. So share with us your work.

Come on we are waiting so lets see it.

Have a great weekend and make some sawdust!

Gotta travel 50 miles to the dealership for our car's first service. While I'm in the big city, I have a list of items and chores to accomplish for the wife. So WW will commence again on Sat. Then' it will be hanging doors on the gun cabinet, taking them off for finishing, making more molding and shop cleaning.

I'm forced to report that I will NOT be doing any shop work this weekend - I'm vendoring at the Brasstown Resort in beautiful Young Harris, GA.  Indoor show - don't care if it rains this time.  Hopefully some folks will take out their wallets and spend some with me.  Getting low on project boards, so to speak.

Still nothing shop related due to my shoulder injury. I have shoulder surgery on Monday so I will have a very stylish sling on like John Moody's and sleeping in the recliner for a week or two. But I have about 10 different woodworking projects that I am working on in my mind as I am chomping at the bit to get back to the shop come summer time.

Working a bit on a new design of boxes for a summer show and my son and I are starting a dual project.  Building a new deck and porch and residing his house.  Bet I don't get union scale.

No shop work this week. Need to move my tools boxes to  new shop. Looking forward to the change. Back to Mon - Fri work weeks with week ends off and no evenings. Still need to finish 2 portraits of Chris and a plaque showing praying hands, the cross and a bible. Will be nice to get back to normal ( whatever that is ) once I am settled in.

Be happy you get lunch and cold ice water. LOL Enjoy the time with your son. It's a special time while you have it.

Thanks Wayne.  Time to show the little whippersnapper that I can still outwork him. :-)

Jari, those are beautiful.  Are they up for sale or are you keeping them?

Beautiful bowls Jari, nice shape on each one and both finishes are very nice. Love the fabulous grain pattern.

"Normal" is just a setting on the dryer.

Normal a state that considered to be the average of things. Wait who am I trying to kid .  I agree with Allen is something on the drier.

Actually I moved my tool boxes today. All 3500 plus pounds of them. Hopefully never again. I got a new job working for part of our local transportation system that caters to the handicapped and senior citizens. I'll be working on Ford's only and that can be anything from a Crown Vic to a 15 passenger van and vans equipped with wheel chair lifts. This is a very exciting opportunity for me.

I got the second Crown of Thorns cut today, so I'll be working on the frames, the backings and the glass soon. Just have to love those scroll saws.

Congrats on the new job, Wayne.

Being a FORD guy, I'm sure you'll only be working on the after market stuff....well maybe that Crown Vic.ning-hahaha024-13643-85.gif
