June 1, 201313 yr Hello Patriot Woodworkers! Well here we are already announcing our 2nd Featured Member of the Month!!! As you all recall last month we had Steven Newman featured for the month of May along side his WoodRiver No.4 Smoothing Plane donated by Woodcraft, and a big hearty thank you to Woodcraft for their support of our Featured Member of the Month for May! This month, June, we have another special Patriot Woodworker who has gone above and beyond the call of duty. He is a constant positive force here on The Patriot Woodworker, and in his own local community. We are proud to announce our Patriot Woodworker Allen Worsham has been voted unanimously by our 3 person judging panel as our June Featured Member of the Month! Allen is a positive force here on The Patriot Woodworker, always willing to jump in and help out folks, and he has even been known to contact folks behind the scenes and offer them some wisdom if they appear to have been going through troubled waters in life. He is a humanitarian, a very spiritual man, always there at the ready to help those who need it. Allen's participation is excellent on The Patriot Woodworker, although lately he has been down and out with shoulder surgery, I guess we can let him go now and then right! He is involved with home improvement projects around his own home that he loves to share with us, and he'll share his personal travels with us and some great photos of his trips. Most importantly, Allen is active in his local community through his church and their out reach programs. Up until a short time ago he was a youth counselor and held bible studies in his home, a community leader in our opinion, although Allen will just say "It aint nothing". On top of all that Allen attends local Homes For Our Troops events. He participated in the Sgt David Mayer Home Build by grabbing a hammer and saw and going to work on the framing portion of that project last summer. Shortly after he attended the Ground Breaking Ceremony for SSGT Fanene's home and most recently he attended the Key Ceremony where we turned over the keys to Sgt David Mayer's new home to the disabled veteran. Allen has proven to be a positive example in his local community and here on The Patriot Woodworker. And for that he is awarded the awesome "Resaw King Band Saw Blade" donated by our supporter Laguna Tools!!!! The gang at Laguna Tools have donated a series of gifts for our future Featured Members of the Month, and for this month we thought it appropriate to award Allen the band saw blade that has set the standard for re-sawing world wide. Allen recently purchased a new band saw and we are proud to add the Resawking Blade to his arsenal. Allen will soon be resawing veneers and book-matching panels for his custom woodworking projects. Also in addition, Allen gets a nice Laguna Tools T-Shirt delivered to his door as well!!! Thanks Laguna Tools!!!! Allen please contact us and give us the length of blade you need for your band saw, as these Resawkings are custom cut to order, and we'll also need your size for the T-Shirt!!!!! Laguna Tools supports The Patriot Woodworker woodworking community and our causes and the disabled veterans we serve. We have some great supporters that have signed on with us, and we are both honored and proud of the lineup of supporters that are coming on board with us, and Laguna Tools has proven to be a great friend of ours and they support all we do here. Thank you Laguna Tools! And thank you Allen for being who you are, and stepping up to the plate here on The Patriot Woodworker and within your own local community, great job Allen!!!!! For our future Featured Members of the Month, see how you can be featured for all you do here and in your community by clicking on "Become a Featured Member of the Month". We are watching all our members and their activity, so remember, if you are involved in charity work in your home towns, or anything else that benefits humanity and the art of woodworking please let us know in our forum, and if you are an active member here on The Patriot Woodworker, you can be our next Featured Member of the Month! Thanks to all involved!!! Â Â Â John Morris The Patriot Woodworker Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops and Wounded Warriors Project

June 2, 201313 yr John and all,Thank you so much for the recognition. I am very humbled by it and appreciate it very much. I do love being a part of TPW and have known a number of the folks here on TPW for many years from other woodworking sites. It is great to be part of a family/fraternity of woodworkers who enjoy their craft and camaraderie. Like you said John, it ain't nothing special what I do here and there. I just strive to work my way through this life that God has given me and to help and encourage others and hopefully make a fair amount of of sawdust along the way. I really appreciate Laguna Tools for their support of TPW as well as for our men and women in the Armed Forces. They have a long history of supporting our military as well as their charitable giving to others in the community. They are located about 30-40 miles from me here in So. Calif. and I have always wanted to go check out their facilities but just never made the time. I will have to rectify that very soon. That Laguna re-saw blade is pretty amazing for sure! Carbide tipped for some serious re-sawing. I can't wait to get the opportunity to not only use the new blade but my new Rikon bandsaw as well. I bought it last August but apart from putting it together and running some scrap wood through it, I have not been able to use it at all. I got pneumonia twice last year and finally recovered at Christmas time. In January of this year I started back to my walking and exercise program and had a number of projects to start up in the shop when I slipped and fell on some unforeseen ice (ice in So. Calif.??) while on my morning walk and had a major full thickness tear of my rotator cuff and had 2 surgeries. I will get released to start my 4-6 month stint of physical therapy on June 18th so hopefully I will be able to actually starting up some easy projects by the end of July.My heartfelt thanks to John Morris and all those here on TPW as well as to Laguna Tools for their support and generosity. My Rikon 10-325 14" Deluxe Bandsaw uses an 111" long blade and 3/4" wide. Shirt size is XL. Allen WorshamCorona, CAallenworsham@earthlink.net'Graze in every man's field, but always give your own milk' J. Way to go and again congratulations on the recognition and great gifts from Laguna. Thanks to Laguna for the gifts and the great support for our site and those serving and that have served in our armed forces! June 9, 201313 yr Moody,The new Laguna Tools blade is in my right hand and my injured/repaired shoulder is the right shoulder. So no brace when I am home keeping out of trouble. I am still being a good boy in the picture keeping my right arm close to the side and the blade is pretty light so no pain. My wife took the photo and kept me inline. :-)Allen WorshamCorona, CAallenworsham@earthlink.net'Graze in every man's field, but always give your own milk' J.
