John,

I bet you love them!  I just looked it up and residential carpeting didn't become popular until after WWll.  Before that everyone had hardwood floors - the lucky devils.

If I can ever get the slab laid I'm building a 12 x 20 shed.

Problem is the earth moving equipment has to traverse a lot of yard and IT WON'T STOP RAINING~!!!!!

So I have  most of the shale down  but not all of it and nothing  to build on.

Cliff, what do you mean by most of the shale down, that terminology is foreign to me, it's going to be a wonderful project man, what style is the shed?

Well  when I lived in FL shale was crushed seashells in your driveway.  Here in the north east shale  is cracked rocks and some kind  of otherwise useless dirt-like substance that you compress into a hard  sub-structure into a hole a couple feet deep and  underneath the stone then you lay the concrete over top and it's supposed to be very substantial.

Myself, I am just trying to stay well and alive, but I am not without projects. I have an old plane that I started on a few months back that I hope to complete soon. I also have various pens that I want to get done as well. This is in addition to any purchases of things that someone wants me to do, and there have been a few of those as well. Enjoy summer while it is here, because it's always gone way too soon.

Later.
