John Morris Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 It is with deep sadness that one of our National Treasures has left us today, Chester Nez was the last Navajo Code Talker in existence, and he left for the big sky today. I know he is in good hands up there, where he is walking with his ancestors. Thank you sir for your service to our country, a country that may have treated you unfairly, yet you stepped up to protect and serve her, thank you Chester Nez. ATTENTION!!!!!!!! WARRIOR ON DECK!!!!!!!!!!! OOORAH MARINE!!!!!!!!!! Click on the image below for the full story Quote
Allen Worsham Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 The Navajo team did a great service. Sorry to hear of his passing. Thanks for sharing it John. Quote
Gene Howe Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 As some may know, I worked on the Navajo Reservation for ten years before I retired. While visiting a Chapter House one day, I had the great honor to be introduced to Mr. Nez. He was a good, good man. Very sorry to read of his passing. Quote
John Morris Posted June 5, 2014 Author Report Posted June 5, 2014 That's must have been an incredible experience Gene, wow! Quote
Tom Wilcox Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 Such a wonderful piece of history sadly gone. It takes a special person to serve a country that did all it could to deprive him of what we were fighting for. FREEDOM! Quote
John Morris Posted June 5, 2014 Author Report Posted June 5, 2014 You bet Allen, we are also embarking on June 6th, D Day, it was almost written the way he was called up. Quote
