ChinScratch Seems like these Fridays are coming quicker every week.

Can't remember what if anything I got done during the week, probably get about the same done over the weekend.

So, with that,...

What's on Your weekend Agenda?

Looks like I'll spend the weekend looking for a particular set of hinges. I'm building a jewelry box from a set of plans published in Wood magazine. The box parts are cut and ready for glue up, I've turned my attention to the lid. Turns our Wood used hinges from Lee Valley that are no longer available. (Mag was published in 2005.) Worse, they are a specific size/style that (apparently) isn't all that common, and the way the box is designed using a different size/style would require some major rework. ARGGGGH!!!!

Tearing out the old dishwasher in prep for the new one. Seems to me they should last longer than 8 years.

I was perusing Amazon and found a set that I think might work.

social butterfly weekend for me (not my normal thing), wedding rehearsal dinner tonight (not my wedding), and then wedding tomorrow morning. after that, need to haul some water to the house (850 gal) to top off the buried cistern that feeds the guesthouse, and then quiet time with the TV remote. and i'm unofficially taking pics tonight and tomorrow, as i just got my old digital camera up and running again after many years of ignoring it.

Ours is going on 69 years old.

SWMBO does them the "Old Fashioned" way by hand.

The floor is concrete. We installed the slated plywood for the ceiling. I guess the next layer on top will be OSB, then felt, and then metal roof.

A friend told me once that he uses his dishwasher to clear the snow.

I found hinges i though might work on Amazon and they came today. They are dimensionally and functionally the same as the ones Wood used in 2005 and they are solid brass. (These are stop hinges, they only open to 90°). Here's the thing, the ones Wood used were labeled as costing almost $18 from LV (2005). The ones from Amazon were $9. This might be NA manufacturer versus Chinese, but tahat's still a huge difference. I'm not knocking LV, they are a favorite place for me...but DANG!

Setting small hinges, getting them right, is a Sisyphean chore for me! BIG seems always easier for success.

Yesterday I set up art on the plant guy's rolling dollies. sold a few items. He's checking with the boss to see if it can be repeated. Today I am setting up along a fence, same part.

This week I'm making a vending display with wine crates for the honey gal. European kiln-dried crate shelves, legs of solid oak scavenged from old drawer sides. Glued and screwed.
