more work on the cabin and the stand - a - lone sauna we're building.

Pick up the lawn mower from being serviced. I'm at the point in life where "take it to get it fixed" is more attractive than "I can fix that"!

May get back to the odd ball shaped bowl to finish out the bottom. I'm beginning to think a vacuum chuck may be less complicated method of reverse chucking.

Me and you both. For me that applies even if I have to have contractors some to the house and fix things.....I really dislike calling contractors, but I guess it beats me doing it; no matter how hard that is to admit.

easiest project of the year: needed a piece of hard board to fit under a sink. 23x34. oh look, a piece laying around already at 23 wide. one cut to length, and i'm done. slap some primer on it, let that dry, and deliver it later.

no complicated joinery, no routing/planing/jointing, no sanding, no staining, no waiting for 3 coats of poly to cure, no hardware.....i like it.

It followed me home this week

now I have to find a place to store it. There's not a lot of space especially on the floor

Means to get rid of it.

Needed to move this inside the shop...

Before it rains...again... took the rails off, hauled things in...reassembled it just a little bit ago...rails weigh almost as much as the saw does...

Just takes longer to get things done , even with the days flying by . Have abandoned doing anything on the ranch , just too hot and the dry is making the grass is turning krispy brown. So just working on turning in the shop. Pics later. Getting prepped for SWAT next week.

Wife and I went to a nearby "Home Show" that's been promoted for weeks. There were may 30 vendors there and it was like watching the 6 o'clock news -- Roofing, gutter guards, window replacements, and shower surrounds, over and over. At least there were no political ads, well, except for the one bandit sign on the way out of the parking lot.

Maybe worse than that. We have ATT Air for internet. It has a rotating IP address , note Hulu and some other apps use this to locate you and maybe cut you off if you are in too many places. So at times I have to call Hulu to fix that for programs or local material. And one more thing is I get ads fro where ever the ip address says I am at. Benn in New York, Vegas, Florida, Alabama, Texas and maybe a few other places right here in my own house. Bet y'all didn't know I was a time traveler.

I built a door. I've never built a door before, so... This is a sliding "barn" door, I used an existing door as a model and adjusted for different materials. Using my miter saw I cut all the parts, then using my router table, I cut dados in one side of the stiles and the top and bottom rails, the middle rail needed dados in both sides. I clamped the whole thing together and laid out the guide holes for the 5" long screws to hold it together. I numbered all the intersections so I could take everything apart and reassemble to at the cabin (where the rest of the material were).

At the cabin, with a helper, we assembled the door with the tongue and groove pine that was at the cabin.

When I measured the diagonals, they were within a 1/16" of one another, sweet!

As an aside on the router table. The stiles were 83 inches long. In order to use the RT safely with such long pieces I have it mounted on a set of miter stand brackets. I have extended length roller supports. I can support material 6 feet from the center of the miter saw stand, so even an 8 foot board is easily supported.
