It is with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart that I must announce the passing of HandyDan. We met face to face about twelve years ago and became close friends from the start. He was kind, generous, and talented man that I had the opportunity to share coffee, cookies & conversation with and I will truly miss him. As per Dan's wishes he will be cremated with private services.

Oh, dear God. Thanks for sharing this Bob. This breaks my heart, Dan and I have never met in person, but I considered him a dear friend. Your description of kind and generous fits him to a T. Like you, I will truly miss him. Go in peace, Dan.

He lived just a few miles from where I grew up. But I don't get back there much any more, except for HS reunions

He was always kind enough to comment on the Wednesday's turners post both with his appreciation and content to help other turners.

So sorry to hear of this .He was a talented and generous man and almost always had the "What is it answer" . He must have been an encyclopedia.

I am very saddened, he's been a staple on The Patriot Woodworker over the last 10 years, I am shocked of this today, he did explain his health challenges to me just a short time ago, so I understood that, but I was not expecting this news now.

Thank you Bob for the update, I know this must be hard on you. It's hard for many of us that's for sure.

What an absolute loss for our community! Dan was clearly one of a kind with a contagious sense of humor.

Devastating news! I never met Dan, but he gifted me two pens and a scraper. Very generous indeed. And his daily humerous contributions were the first thing on my list every morning. He will be greatly missed here.
