New bowl. Getting ready to glue it together. Wanted to stack it to get an idea what it will look like. Around 9.5” in diameter. Purple Heart, Canary wood, maple and katalox.

Nice. Are you using the lathe and a parting tool?

Yes. I bought the kit from Ron Brown. It comes with a nice thick plastic plate with a faceplate attached. It has a 4” square hole in the front to glue a square block on your blank to drive it. I didn’t like that so I cut a piece of corian to fit and put a finish nail through the center to hold a piece of 1/4” plywood. The plywood keeps me from cutting into the black disc. You also get a tool rest with 45, 50, 55 and 60 degree slots to guide the parting tool. The parting tool is 1/16” with a small 3/32” piece attached to the top. The pot piece has a small flute in it and the whole thing is only 1/2” tall.
