June 9Jun 9 The problem with super glue isn't strength, it's longevity. It's not surprising to have it fail on the 5-10 year time span. Not guaranteed, but not surprising.
June 10Jun 10 Not only that but CA becomes brittle with age. In turning wood we apply a sacrificial faceplate to a turning blank with a bead of CA. When the piece is finished the block is removed with a sharp tap on the side with a chisel. Usually pops off. Not a lot of shear strength there.
