May 31May 31 Thanks for asking Gerald, for now the What's It is discontinued, I've been having a hard time coming up with new What's Its from MWTCA, they are not keeping up with their website and many of their What's It images are missing.EDIT: I visited their website just now and it seems some things have improved. That being said I'd hate to start up the What's It again with what I perceive as an unreliable source for What's It images. For awhile it was frustrating to go to their website and see a full year of What's It images missing and/or not updated. Then I started to go out of the MWTCA realm and find What's It images from other sources for our topics (still to benefit the MWTCA with memberships) but in order to use those images I needed to have permission from the image owner, and that was becoming a pain in the rear, quite often no response, or delayed response, or an argument over why I should even be allowed to use their image, even though I'd explain that their website will get full credit and probably some traffic. So, you may be right in one sense Gerald, perhaps after our move, and I'm all settled in I may be able to dedicated more energy to the What's It, cuz I sure do miss it too. Lets see how the rest of the year plays out, and perhaps fire it back up January of 2027. I'll check in from time to time to see if MWTCA is keeping their What's it pages updated and if I feel confident we can fire it up again I will.Of course, I am always open to suggestions to keep this ball rolling!
May 31May 31 Here is one of their What's It pages missing images, unless it's only on my end, can anyone else see the images?https://mwtca.org/778-2/

I linked to 2019 but there are all the years after up to June 2026 in the Gritsmill tabI've seen em all Gerald, and used all the ones at the time that had no answer. 2026 I had not visited since the project went dark at end of 2025 for us. Or should I say, I went dark 😄I'd like to recant the original sentiment of my first answer, I may have come off as if MWTCA has done anything wrong, they have not! They do not post What's It images for our benefit here, they run their website and image library for the benefit of their members and visitors, their library of What's It was never intended to be used for some guy that comes along from The Patriot Woodworker and wants to start up a What's It project using their images, so it was unfair for me to to criticize their handling of their What's It section.I'd like to fire this up again, but I am rolling it all over in my head and trying to figure out how we can do it while not depending on the MWTCA What's It section to supply us images for our monthly What's It. Because the images over there are not updated frequently enough for us to use monthly, or should I say, there aren't enough images with a "no answer yet" title for us to use. When I first started our What's It project here, to help boost their membership by buying our members here a one year membership for their participation and answers, there were plenty of images with "no answer yet" because we had years of their images to catch up with, but we have caught up and now the images over there don't populate frequently enough to give us a one year supply of "no answer yet" images. If y'all have any ideas I am open to them. 😊
