May 4May 4 Popular Post Hello there,Recently DuckSoup contacted me. He indicated that he had a few spare tools that he wasn't using and that if I wanted them I could have them. I don't look gift horses in the mouth. If someone offers me something I generally just say yes. I did not even ask him what it was. But this is a woodworking forum and I know that he knows that I use hand tools so I figured that was a safe bet. Anyway the package arrived a couple of days ago. And I want to show you what it is that he sent me. All of it is fantastic and I will use it.I just wanted to say how grateful I was for these and commend this forum because this is not the only generosity that's been extended to me in this place. May 4May 4 Popular Post He is indeed a generous person, and just a great guy in general. No doubt you will get some good use out of those tools.
May 4May 4 Author Popular Post Indeed he is.The 9 & 1/2 is perfect for what I use a block plane for. It is in evapo rust and will remain at least overnight. I definitely plan to restore it and put it to use.The apron he sent me is great. The one I was using was from Harbor freight. It did the job, but this one is much better. The folding ruler is lovely, and I used it today during dovetail practice. All of it was highly appreciated. Edited May 4May 4 by Handfoolery

It will make your hand tool journey just that much more joyful. What is truly cool is that a bunch of them are things I have wanted a while. The apron, the 9 1/2, the folding rule, that Crown gauge. And those chisels are icing on the top. They are extremely well made. I prepped one of them to use. I got about 2 and a half inches of the back flat on a Medium India in around one minute. I bet if I wanted to I could flatten that whole back in about 5 minutes. Kudos to Woodcraft for producing such a product!
May 5May 5 @Handfoolery Of all the hand tools I have, I would have to say that good chisels are a blessing. While you're in such a good mood if I were you I'd go ahead and flatten the rest. It's about the joy.
May 5May 5 Author Popular Post @MrRick , I actually emailed the company, I;m glad they are a sponsor here; the quality they produced for a general purpose bench chisel really is commendable.
