Shopsmith Outfeed Table

The outfeed table is created using the following material

One 2' x 2' x 1/2" thick piece of plywood ( base of table )

3/4" pvc. - 10' section of Pipe, two elbows and two tees ( used for frame )

One 1-1/2"" x 1-1/2"" x 1-1/2"pvc tee ( used to suport the table )

Two 2" sections of 1-1/4" pvc pipe ( used to make locks for table connection )

Six small bolts and nuts ( used to bolt the plywood to the frame )

Instead of buying the 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" tee I made out of a two pieces of 1-1/2" pvc cut and gouled togeather

I had all of the other parts on hand except the 10' section of 3/4" pvc pipe

my cost was about $5.00

Your cost will vary depending on what you may have on hand

Wrong info

Having outfeed support is a big safety feature. It looks to be the height of your miter slots? Does this allow your miter gauge bar to move over the top?

Looks like a very practical solution for smaller areas.

Hi BB1

No, the table heigth is the same heigth has the Shopsmith table. For the miter gauge to clear you would have to cut a slot in the extension board. I did not cut the slot because I designed it for ripping not crosscuting. The table could also be lowered down some by using the correct pvc parts or installing the board inside the pvc frame not on top.

Hi Sreilly24590

Yes and that is just what I have, a small space.

Thanks for the idea, the detailed explanation and especially all the pictures. Great, economical, practical solution.

Hi Grandpadave52

Just want to mention the drawing has one error. It shows the table support tee has being 2" x 2" x 1-1/2", it should read a 1-1/2" tee that is split to snap on to the way tubes.
