I had a class at Woodcraft last Saturday. The manager heard me talking about Sapele and asked if I wanted some. I said yes. He found a piece in the basement. I turned a few ornament globes with it. A friend of mine had some old wormy chestnut cabinet doors he stripped down to do some segmented work and gave me a few pieces. This ornament is a Sapele globe with wormy chestnut finial and cap. No finish yet. It will get spray lacquer. Sorry I took the picture with my phone sideways thinking it would be straight up but didn’t happen that way.
