Saw Sharpening Vise

I like keeping my chisels and handplanes sharp! It makes my woodworking journey sweet!

 

But not only these tools but also all my saws. 

I've refurbished many saws. I've reshaped, recut, and sharpened so many times and finally made this "Saw Sharpening Vise" to ease the process. 

It has sloping jaws that ease sharpening access, a hinge on the bottom, and stops for registering into the a Moxon Vise easily. Slipping in the saw is quick and painless.

Couldn't be without it.

Nice work! A good sharpening setup makes such a huge difference, and that vise looks super handy. The sloped jaws and quick clamping into the Moxon are clever. Way nicer than fighting with a makeshift setup every time you want to touch up a saw. Always cool to see someone who actually enjoys keeping their tools tuned up!

@steven newman I wanted to get one of those like the no 3. I found it next to impossible to find one. So in the end I made the one shown. It will fit in any vise but I made it fit in my bench top Moxon vise. Boy it really turns a chore into happiness to use it.
