September 25, 2025Sep 25 Apple devices default to the HEIC image extension. Unfortunately our platform does not recognize this image extension. Prompted by a topic that @dick sheremeta submitted and he had a hard time getting his HEIC images to display, they did not render, they did upload but appeared as file attachments. So I asked our developers for some help figuring out a work around. Here is a tip they suggested for our Apple users. Quote A way around it is to let your members know they can change the format on their iPhone for images they'd like to post on your community. They can find this setting in Settings → Camera → Formats → Camera Capture → change to Most Compatible. A note that this change would impact all photos and videos from that point onwards until they change it back. Hope this helps you @dick sheremeta and any Apple users while using our community. Any other suggestions are highly welcome in this topic. Thanks!
September 25, 2025Sep 25 Changing the setting is really easy and probably will avoid a lot of hassle on other sites as well. However, if you are a die hard photographer you will want to remember to change it back. They did not show up correctly. So the above original post is addressing that issue. If you are still confused join the club 😃. I can explain further though.
