Hi back at ya' Ray. I'm guessing you're in the neighborhood because you have an interest in woodworking(?). Tell us a little.

Welcome. Like @lew said I’m looking forward to hearing about and seeing what you’re working on.
Speaking strictly for myself, some folks here might mention something about donuts, but don’t worry some of us are watching our weight and prefer pictures. 😂

Welcome Ray to The Patriot Woodworker. Glad you found us. Great place to hang out. Please take the next step and formally join us. Doing so will allow you to fully share in all the great benefits and features of the site. You'll also be afforded access to the break room donut bar where you can share in the donuts you'll be providing on your first full day here.😆 Looking forward to your participation with us...oh and the donuts.

Just asking.  I thought "y'all" was singular and "all y'all" was plural.  Or does this vary by locality?   Yinz might be different*

*extra points if you can identify this.

Is that the same as uuns. Y'all in my opinion is plural. Usually refers to a group or type of people.

People that use that are called "Yinzers"

Growing up my grandfather had some unusual expressions.  Only years later did I know it was because he spent the first 10 years of his life near there.

gum band = rubber band

redd up = clean up

druthers = choice

Come east over the Laurels into the Appalachians and it gets even  stranger

It is kinda like coming from afar--a fire

These things fall into southern vocabulary so easily they just don't stick out. Druthers is one I have not heard in a long time.

Hello, Ray. Please join us and show us what you are working on or hope to work. This nut house has lots of experience and knowledge.

BTW, I was born and raised in southeast Tennessee.  Learned much about farming and animals during those years. Taught my children and grand children how to garden and enjoy fresh food. And, you are welcome to bring some of that fire water. 😅

Sign up Ray! You can do it! We are woodworkers who enjoy the journey and welcome you to sign up and show us your woodworking!

Welcome aboard Ray. Drop a line and enjoy he fishing. Great group of guys here.
